New Reef Grab Sample Assays - Ashanti II Project - Ghana
PMI Ventures Ltd. (the "Company") [TSX Venture: PMV], has received assay results from ten grab samples taken along a 125 metre section of quartz reef which was recently exposed by artisanal miners on the Company's Agyka Manso concession -- the southern most concession on the 384 sq. km. Ashanti II project. The reef is approximately 1 metre wide, dips 65º W and strikes NNE.
The grab samples consist of quartz reef and or wall rock, and assayed between 58.2 and 0.07 g/t Au, with three samples greater than 22.8 g/t Au and all ten averaging 11.4 g/t Au. Visible gold has been noted in the reef workings.
This new discovery occurs near the village of Appiahkrom and correlates with a NNE trending structural corridor, which is interpreted as a splay of the Asankrangwa Shear Zone ("ASZ2"), a major crustal scale fault that transects the Ashanti II concessions and hosts the Obotan mine 48 kilometres to the northeast.
Sample analyses were completed at SGS Analabs Pty. Ltd. at Bibiani, and analyzed for gold by fire assay-AA on a 50 gram sample charge. The work program was under the direction of Douglas R. MacQuarrie, P.Geo. (B.C).
